INTERESTINGLY 6 MONTHS AGO VCAT FOUND THE BUILDER NOT LIABLE FOR THE LACROSSE TOWER FIRE BUT FOUND THOSE WHO SPECIFIED AND APPROVED THE ALUCOBEST CLADDING TO BE AT FAULT. It’s little wonder that PI Insurance premiums are soaring… and bears out what we have been saying for quite a long time… that those involved in the specifying and approval of floammable cladding are negligent. We would love to know how the product was marketed though. Surely incorrect statements by the marketers could play a significant role in the choice of such an unsuitable material for apartment and office towers.
